 Town of Princeton, Mass.  -- BOARD OF SELECTMEN  -- May 19, 2014

6:00 PM   The meeting was called to order in the Town Hall Annex.  Present were Chairman, Neil Sulmasy, Stan Moss, Edith Morgan and Town Administrator John Lebeaux. Scouts and their troop leaders in attendance.

New Business  
 John L. explained the procurement procedure for a proposed ice cream concession at Krashes Field. Notification was posted and published in The Landmark, requesting proposals, and only one was submitted, by Rebecca LaFountain. She previously operated an ice cream stand by the garage in East Princeton and is acquiring permits to do the same from the Everett Needham Fieldhouse. The building was constructed to accommodate a food concession and meets BOH requirements for kitchen operation and service. She has specified hours of operations as week nights from 6 – 9 p.m. and weekends 12 – 9 p.m. from June through August. Zoning Enforcement Officer John Wilson has approved seasonal/temporary signage and she has gotten BOH approval. Parks & Rec Director Sue Shanahan explained that her department’s volunteers had operated the concession during games and events only. She said an outside vendor with regular daily hours with hopefully encourage more traffic and increase use of the facilities, including sports fields, basketball court and hiking trails. The selectmen reviewed the lease contract, noting certain insurance requirements including Commercial General Liability Insurance, and voted all in favor to sign the contract. They signed three originals for the Parks & Rec, the BOS and the tenant.

Old Business  
6:10 PM  Board voted all in favor to appoint Stan M. as clerk for the board.
Other Business
6:12 PM  Stan announced that volunteers who constructed the ice rink last winter at Krashes Field under the direction of the Parks & Rec. Commission will be invited in for the June 2 meeting to be recognized for their efforts.

Neil S. wanted to recognize Town Clerk Lynne Grettum for speedy processing and delivery of election results at the May 12 annual town election, as results began to post just 11 minutes after polls closed.
        He also wants to set a date at the next meeting for a BOS Strategy Session.

Public Comments  
Scouts were offered opportunity for questions and asked about lights not working in the fieldhouse restroom at Krashes. Sue S. reported that lights, which are interior motion-detector, had been fixed.

Warrants and Minutes
6:20 PM  Selectmen reviewed and approved Vendor and Payroll Warrants FY14 #23. They voted all in favor to approve regular meeting minutes for May 5 and May 13 [pre-ATM special meeting].

Edie reminded everyone about the Memorial parade on Sunday and John L. noted completion and distribution of Annual Report which is available online on the town website or as hard copy in the Building Dept. office.

6:30 PM  The Board voted all in favor to adjourn
